We’re delighted that Castlegregory Golf Club is dedicating it’s Captain’s Charity Day (July 19th) to The Mercy Hospital Foundation. The golf event will raise funds for Brenda Doody’s Mercy Marathon Challenge – a mammoth marathon challenge involving 12 marathons in 8 months for Kerry woman, Brenda.
Brenda and her husband, Pat, are raising funds to support research programmes in oesophageal cancer and expanding the minimally invasive cancer programmes in the Mercy Hospital. Last year, Pat was diagnosed by Mr. Tom Murphy with oesophageal cancer and following chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, is on the road to recovery. As a thank you to Mr. Tom Murphy and his wonderful team in the Hospital, The Doody Family have become passionately invested in improving services for oesophageal cancer patients and this golf event will help them get closer to their fundraising target.
The golf event takes place at Castlegregory Golf Club on Sunday, 19th July. Prize giving will take place at Strokers Lodge at 9pm with music afterwards. There are still opportunities to book a team and sponsor a tee box.
A big thank you to all the sponsors and to everyone at Castlegregory Golf Club. For more inforamtion or to book a team, phone 066 7139444. If you would like to make a donation online to Brenda’s Mercy Marathon Challenge, click here.
