Mercy Cancer Care Centre Golf Classic
Fota Island Resort
This year, our Golf Classic took place in one of Ireland’s premier golf resorts and raised funds for the Mercy Cancer Care Centre. More than bricks and mortar, the Mercy Cancer CARE Centre is a community funded cancer centre providing hope and healing close to home. For the one in three of us who will be diagnosed with cancer in our lives, at the Mercy, we want to be sure that that news is told in the most supportive way possible. We are building a specialised Cancer Centre next to the Mercy Hospital that will provide a quiet safe place for patients to help deal with bad news. Funds raised from the Golf Classic will help build the Mercy Cancer CARE Centre – thank you for your support.

Thank you to our Tee Sponsors
Thank you to all the companies and individuals that so kindly sponsored Tees at the Golf Classic.
Thank you to our volunteer organisers

Volunteer organiser, Jack French was joined by Brian Dunphy (former Board Chairman) in organising our annual Golf Classic. The Golf Classic could not happen without the knowledge, dedication and enthusiasm Jack and Brian so generously give. Pictured L-R, Brian Dunphy and Jack French. Read below why they give their time to the Golf Classic each year.
“I have been fundraising for the Mercy Hospital since 1979, and this is the most exciting project so far. I enjoy raising funds for the Mercy, as it is a great local institution and one where I can see firsthand the impact of the funds raised on the lives of those using the services of the Mercy.” – Brian Dunphy.
” As a result of being self-employed most of my working life, I was constantly approached to subscribe to charitable events of all kinds. I always wanted to give my time to a local charity that was focused on a particular goal and the Mercy Hospital Foundation does just that. Organising a Golf Classic was my first preference as I’ve been involved in this type of fundraising for many years with my local GAA club. I support the Mercy as it is a local charity and one that is very close to my heart.” – Jack French.
