We are delighted to be short listed for the 2016 National Awards for Excellence in Fundraising. These National awards, established by Fundraising Ireland, recognise exceptional achievement in the fundraising community and the winners are chosen on the basis of fundraising excellence.
Best Emerging Fundraiser?
Our Community & Events Fundraiser, Deirdre Finn, has been short listed in this category which recognises a fundraiser who, in the last three years has shown aptitude, ability and success beyond their experience. ?Deirdre’s management of?our community events as well as her outstanding work with our fundraisers in the community has had a significant impact on our organisation and has yielded major funds for the Foundation over the last three years. She is an experienced and committed fundraiser with great energy and drive and is an integral member of our fundraising team here at the Foundation.
Best Corporate Social Responsibility Programme?
This award recognises the most successful Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by a commercial organisation in Ireland – and our initiative with Q-Park has been recognised for this Award.?The initiative, whereby Q-Park provides affordable parking rates for people visiting the hospital whilst also donating a portion of the revenue directly to the Foundation, is an excellent idea. It means that people frequenting the hospital are relieved of the stress of trying to find nearby parking. The ?1 donation for every validated parking ticket means that there is a very real financial benefit for the various projects undertaken by the Foundation.? Since their partnership with the Mercy Foundation in 2013, Q-Park has donated almost ?17,000 and this sum is continuing to grow steadily. This represents almost 17,000 visitors over a two and a half year period that have availed of the initiative.
